Yes It’s Ladies Night…….Oh What A Night!!

21st July 2022

Traditionally an annual event, and fashionable from the 1940’s, the Masonic Ladies Night has sadly become something of a rare beast. Originally it was a celebration, hosted by the Master of a Lodge, as an evening to honour the Ladies’ in the Mason’s life, not just their significant other, but also their mother, daughter, sister, etc, in fact anyone who supported them.

Recently W.Bro John Tomlin, the current Master of Viking No.7934, which meets at Morpeth Masonic Hall, decided to resume this tradition and on the 8th July held his Ladies Night at the Holiday Inn Newcastle, Seaton Burn, attended by just under 100 brethren, their families and friends, who all enjoyed great food and ambience.

During the course of the evening a raffle, with prizes donated by the guests, was held in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support which, with the selling prowess of W,Bros Gary Breach and David Stockdale, raised the magnificent sum of £1100, which it is hoped will be presented by the Provincial Grand Master, John and his wife, and Gary and David to the charity.

Many thanks to W.Bros John Tomlin and Gary Breach for the submission of this article.
