Tony Shows A Whole Lotta Love For Northumbria Blood Bikes

11th May 2022

Bro. Tony Keenan of Homelyn Lodge No.6075, which meets at Ashington Masonic Hall, is once again running the Great North Run in aid of Northumbria Blood Bikes. This time, however, there is a twist in that should he raise £1000 he will be completing it dressed as Elvis.

Wondering why Elvis has been chosen? Tony recently lost his dad to a terminal illness, and naturally this has left a huge hole in his life. His dad was a great supporter of Northumbria Blood Bikes and of the volunteering Tony did for them,

Tony explained “I still remember the late night and early morning messages about what bike I was on or how many jobs I had done. NBB supports the North East supplying blood and other products around the region, my dad was one of those who needed these urgent items when admitted to hospital.

I recently went back on shift and this was one of the hardest things I have done, for a number of reasons no late night messages, the delivering of blood to someone who needed it, travelling to the hospital which treated my dad throughout all had an impact but all for a good cause.

If you can donate even a small amount I and the NBB family would be eternally grateful.”
