2CC Treads The Boards For Charity

09th August 2022

Created in 2011 at Byker Masonic Hall, and the brainchild of the Stewardess, Clare Horner, her husband, James, and good friend, Michael Parker with the support of the Hall’s Committee, the 2CC charity show aims to support 2 chosen charities for a full year with a series of events and activities to fundraise and help raise the profile and awareness of the selected organizations.

Since its inception the wider masonic community has been huge supporters, year on year, both in attendance at the shows, providing publicity as well as donating vast sums of money from various Masonic individuals, bands and groups. Thanks to all those who have supported the 2CC initiative throughout the years, well over £30k has been raised. It is only through the support received that the 2CC are able to make a difference to the hard-working charities they support.

Sunday 18th September sees the 2CC hosting their 9th annual 2CC Tyne Theatre Charity Show, on this occasion, raising much needed funds for both Myeloma UK and the Tyne Theatre & Opera House Preservation Trust.

This family friendly show promises to be a great afternoon, especially for fans of musical theatre, with many West End shows being covered, including Hamilton, Les Miserables, Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, Oliver, Little Shop of Horrors, Chicago, Waitress, Phantom of the Opera and much more.

The show will be heavily influenced, but not exclusively inspired, by “MYELOMA MUSICAL THEATRE”, and will feature a diverse range of artists, with the same high-quality musical talent, and the humour of some great comics audiences have come to expect over the years, whilst still supporting charity, our local iconic theatre and local performers from across the region.

Compered by Tyne Theatre Panto favourite, Charlie Richmond, accompanied by some incredibly gifted individuals including Collabro’s very own Matt Pagan, both staff and artists alike are kindly giving their time and talents for free for the day to help support these two wonderful chosen charities.

Tickets are available from the box office on Westgate Road, Monday to Friday, 10am to 3.30pm, or online at : https://www.tynetheatreandoperahouse.uk/events/2cc-tyne-theatre-charity-show/
