The most recent meeting of Regius Lodge No.8864, which meets at Whitley Bay Masonic Hall, saw 23 year old Mr Nathan Berry become Bro. Nathan Berry, as part of a great Masonic night.
Nathan applied to join through the Members Pathways system, making his initial enquiry via the Provincial Website in September of this year. After going through the initial process Nathan selected Regius Lodge as being the best fit for him and met with some of the members of the Lodge, informally, prior to being interviewed and subsequently Initiated.
Nathan was also in attendance at the recently reported on North East Expo event, attended by Northumberland Freemasons, and made himself known to the members of the Community Engagement Team who were pleased to further discuss his joining with him.
The Worshipful Master Ben Graves, assisted by the acting Junior Warden, Paul Norton, and the Junior Deacon, George Kirkwood, delivered a fantastic ceremony to take Nathan through his first degree in Freemasonry. In addition, in his capacity as Provincial Membership Officer, W.Bro Gary Breach presented Nathan with a copy of the newly re-vamped candidates booklets prior to him retiring from the Lodge.
After a fine meal at the festive board and the usual toasts, Bro Darren Bolton, Chairman of the Light Blues Club, explained to Nathan a little about the LBC before presenting him with the LBC lapel pin for him to wear.
An excellent masonic evening was had by all in attendance.
Many thanks to W.Bro Gary Breach for the submission of this article.
