In 1989 he took the Chair of King Solomon in Coquetdale Lodge and was Lodge Chaplain from 1993 to 1995. He was Lodge Secretary from 1995 to 2000 before taking up the office of Chaplain again in 2000 until the present day. David was also the Director of Ceremonies in 2004 and Charity Steward until his health deteriorated.
Outside of Freemason, David was an active member of his local community. Aside from his work as a Justice of the Peace, David was the Drum Major of the Rothbury Highland Pipe Band for many years.
David lived respected and died respected. Rest in Peace our worthy Brother.
