A remarkable milestone was recently celebrated as Brethren, family and friends gathered to honour W.Bro Thomson Bathgate PProvSGW on reaching an incredible 60 years in Freemasonry.
Sixty years of dedication to the Craft is an achievement attained by very few and reflects a lifetime of commitment, friendship and service. The occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate not only Thomson’s Masonic journey but also the lasting impact he has had on those who have shared it with him.
The celebrations included a heartfelt toast delivered by W.Bro Billy Gibson PProvGSwdB, who reflected on Thomson’s many years of involvement and contribution to Freemasonry. His words highlighted the respect and admiration in which Thomson is held by his fellow Brethren.

In reply, Thomson entertained those present with memories and reflections gathered over six decades in the Craft. While not quite matching the 45-minute response he delivered at his 50-year celebration, his 37-minute reply was enjoyed by all and provided a fascinating insight into a lifetime of Masonic experiences.
As part of the evening, Thomson was presented with a specially produced commemorative booklet celebrating his Masonic career. Gifts and a celebration cake were also presented, all of which were received with great appreciation.

The evening was a fitting tribute to a Brother whose 60 years in Freemasonry have been characterised by loyalty, friendship and dedication. It was a wonderful celebration and one that will long be remembered by all who attended.
