The Province is pleased to acknowledge and thank St Alban Lodge No. 5322 for their very generous donation of £1,000 to the TLC Appeal Northumberland.
The donation was presented at the Lodge’s Installation Meeting on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, where the newly installed Master, W Bro Vince Moore, formally presented the contribution to the Northumberland TLC Representative, W Bro Dennis A Frazer, PAGDC.
The scale of the donation was entirely unexpected. W Bro Frazer had initially been invited to receive the proceeds of a raffle; however, the Lodge instead chose to make TLC Appeal the recipient of one of the evening’s significant charitable gifts. This act of generosity was both humbling and deeply appreciated by the Trustees of TLC Appeal Northumberland.
Support such as this is vital to the continued work of TLC within the Province. TLC Northumberland currently supplies comfort bears to 25 NHS units across Northumberland, supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
TLC bears are given to children who:
Are admitted to hospital
May be surrounded by unfamiliar faces
Are sometimes separated from parents or family
Are facing treatment that can be confusing or frightening
These bears play an essential role in helping medical staff calm and reassure children at what can be a very distressing time.
It is also noteworthy that in October 2025, TLC reached a significant national milestone: donating over four million bears across England and Wales – a tangible demonstration of the impact made possible by Masonic generosity.
