A Double Celebration at Lodge Vandeleur No. 3586

20th January 2026

It was a great honour for Lodge Vandeleur No. 3586 to welcome R.W.Bro. Kevin Peter Stannard, Provincial Grand Master, on Wednesday, 14th January 2026, for an evening marked by two very special celebrations.

The first was the recognition of a remarkable milestone in the Masonic life of W.Bro. Derek Taylor, who marked fifty years of dedicated service to the Craft, precisely to the day. Brother Derek was Initiated on 14th January 1976, Passed on 11th February 1976, and Raised on 10th March 1976, later being Exalted into the Holy Royal Arch on 25th April 1985.

Throughout his fifty-year Masonic journey, Brother Derek has consistently exemplified the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. He has served as Master of Lodge Vandeleur No. 3586 twice and is widely respected as a meticulous and accomplished ritualist. His influence within the Craft has extended beyond the Lodge room, with all three of his sons and a grandson following him into Freemasonry, ensuring that his Masonic legacy continues across generations.

The certificate marking Brother Derek’s Golden Jubilee was presented by R.W.Bro. Kevin Peter Stannard, a fitting and distinguished recognition of his outstanding contribution to both his Lodge and Freemasonry more widely.

The evening also brought a second cause for celebration with the surprise appointment of W.Bro. Kevin Gouldsbrough as Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden (PProvSGW). This well-deserved honour recognises his dedication, commitment, and outstanding service to the Province, and it was received with warm and enthusiastic support from the Brethren present.

Brethren, the evening was a celebration not only of half a century of Masonic dedication by Brother Derek Taylor, but also of the distinguished service of W.Bro. Kevin Gouldsbrough, and the continued strength, pride, and vitality of Lodge Vandeleur No. 3586. We are sure all will join in congratulating them both on their achievements and in recognising the credit they bring to their Lodge and to the Province.
