The Grand Superintendent, M.E. Comp Ian Craigs, assisted by the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E. Comp Michael W.McHale, the Second Provincial Grand Principal, EComp Dr Greg Smith and the Third Provincial Grand Principal, EComp David Moffett opened the Chapter in due form at 3pm.

After confirmation of the minutes from the previous meeting the Grand Superintendent paid tribute to those Companions who had passed away since the last meeting.
The Provincial Grand Treasurer, E. Comp Dennis Frazer, presented a finance report which was unanimously passed by the Companions. E. Comp Dennis was re-elected as Provincial Grand Treasurer as was the accounts examiner.
The Grand Superintendent announce his decision to re-appoint his Deputy and First and Second Principles who,
‘… had done such good work the previous year and who were just getting their feet under the table and deserved the opportunity to continue in their roles’.

The Grand Superintendent also re-appointed the Provincial Scribe Ezra, E. Comp Brian Rudd, who is retiring before the next Annual Convocation but will continue serve in the role to support the transition of his successor. Warm tribute was paid to the excellent work of E. Comp Brian Rudd which met by heartfelt applause amongst the Companions presents.
The Grand Superintendent then appointed the other Provincial Chapter Officers for the year and carried out the promotions before addressing the Companions.
In his address, M.E. Comp Ian Craigs expressed his desire to increase Chapter membership across the Province. In the last year there has been a modest increase in Chapter membership – the first increase in several years – and the Grand Superintendent announce a number of initiatives to increase membership further
The annual meeting of Provincial Chapter was closed in peace, love and harmony at 4pm.
The festive board that followed the meeting was attended by almost 200 Companions who enjoyed a fantastic meal prepared by the team at Gosforth Race Course. With the ceremony over, it was time to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.
