Reserve Forces Lodge Of Northumbria No. 2666 Welcomes New Members and Observes Remembrance Day

12th November 2024

On Wednesday 6 November, in a memorable gathering, The Reserve Forces Lodge Of Northumbria welcomed two new members into the brotherhood, further strengthening the Lodge’s dedication to growing the membership numbers. The ceremony, attended by both longstanding and newer members, was marked by a warm camaraderie and a shared commitment to the Lodge’s core values.

Welcoming New Members

The initiation of the two candidates was conducted with traditional Masonic rituals, symbolizing their formal entry into the Lodge and its timeless principles. These new members join a community of like-minded individuals, many of whom have military backgrounds or are connected to the Armed Forces. The Lodge fosters a spirit of resilience and respect, especially towards those who have served their country. These latest additions bring fresh energy and perspectives to the group and have already expressed a keen interest in upholding the traditions of the Lodge.

Observing Remembrance Day

In keeping with tradition, the Reserve Forces Lodge observed Remembrance Day with a place setting for The Fallen Soldier, reflecting on the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces. This Lodge has a unique connection to this day, with many members having personally served or having family ties to those who served in conflicts past and present. Together, the Lodge members paid tribute to fallen soldiers dedicating a minutes silence and reflection to honour their legacy. For the new members, this served as a poignant reminder of the Lodge’s commitment to duty, remembrance, and the enduring respect for those who have sacrificed for peace and freedom.

As the Lodge continues to grow and evolve, it remains steadfast in its mission to promote brotherly love and charity, among its members. The initiation of the new candidates and the observance of Remembrance Day highlight the core of what it means to be part of this unique Masonic Lodge, where service and remembrance are truly at the heart of everything they do.

The Reserve Forces Lodge Of Northumbria meet at Fern Avenue, Jesmond on the first Wednesday of the Month. The next meeting on 4 December will see another 2 candidates initiated into Freemasonry.
