New Year cheer from the Light Blues

20th January 2020

The Light Blues Club of Northumberland continued the festive cheer into the New Year when a delegation visited and hijacked the meeting of St Luke’s Lodge in Wallsend.

During last year the Light Blues have been busy raising funds during various charity events, including their spring social evening, summer ball, summer BBQ and Christmas meal.

After the meeting of St Luke’s Lodge had concluded, during the festive board, the Worshipful Master, Michael Clark, allowed Bro Richard Erskine of the Light Blues to present two cheques to two very worthy charities.

The first cheque, for £200, was presented to Worshipful Brother John Gray for the Smiles and Hope Charity which provides holiday breaks for children living with cancer. Johns wife, Alison, is directly involved with the charity.

The second cheque, also for £200, was presented to Worshipful Brother Stan Madgin, for Samantha’s Legacy, which was set up by him to raise awareness and combat knife crime.
