New & Old Come Together For Triple Celebration

13th December 2022

Early December saw the Provincial Prior of Northumberland’s Bodyguard hold their annual Christmas curry night.

With Right Eminent Knight Kevin Stannard, the Provincial Prior, and Eminent Knight Ray Walton, the Provincial Grand Master of the Mark in attendance, past and present members of the group, numbering more than 20, came together in the private dining room of Latif Indian Restaurant in Newcastle, to celebrate another successful year, during which a large contingent had attended numerous Provincial visits and Installations, playing catch up from the fall out of the pandemic, in addition to being on duty at the successful Annual General Meeting of the Provincial Priory, annual Malta meeting, both held at Byker Masonic Hall, and the annual Church Service, held at the historic and atmospheric Hexham Abbey in Hexham.

The assembled Knights also had cause to celebrate the retirement of the Commander of the Provincial Priors Bodyguard, Eminent Knight Chris Allen, who was presented with a specially commissioned bottle of Provincial Priors Bodyguard Port and a wrist watch, by his successor Knight Scott Hunter, and the birthday of the new Registrar of the Provincial Priors Bodyguard, Eminent Knight Ian Matthews, who celebrated his 73rd birthday.

A very convivial evening was had by all and all are geared up for the new tranche of visits ahead.
