Age
You must be at least 18 years old to join Freemasonry
Belief
We won’t ask about your religion, but Freemasons must have belief in a supreme being
Character
You must be a man of good character, with no unspent criminal convictions
What Happens Next?
Our Members’ Pathway Team will contact you within a few days of registering your interest, and they will explain the next steps. They will be on hand to guide you through the process of matching you with a local Lodge that meets your interests and expectations and will be able to answer any questions you have.
Universities’ Scheme
We have a programme specifically tailored for university students who wish to explore everything Freemasonry has to offer.
In the Province there are two Lodges associated with the University Scheme, Hostpur Lodge and Duke of Connaught. Both Lodges have many student members from Newcastle and Northumbria Universities.
