Mid December saw in excess of forty visitors, including a large contingent of twelve members of the Northumberland Light Blues Club, join the members of John Page Lodge No.3619, witness a very special Second Degree ceremony.
The Lodge, which meets as Cramlington Masonic Hall, was opened by the current Master, Derek Thompson, prior to Barry Lowen, a Past Master of the Lodge, assuming the Chair to conduct the Second Degree ceremony for his son, Craig, who joined the Lodge in May last year. Barry did an excellent job, in emotional circumstances, in delivering the ritual, and the tracing board, whilst George Jobling, a long standing family friend of the Lowen’s, stood in as Senior Warden, and delivered the Tools and the Charge.
W.Bro Gary Breach, the Provincial Grand Membership Officer, then had the very pleasing duty of presenting Craig with the brand new Second Degree Information Booklet, the first of the newly revamped booklets to be presented in open Lodge.
The festivities continued after the meeting when the members and guests were treated to an excellent Christmas festive board, during which time Darren Bolton, the Chair of the Northumberland Light Blues Club, explained a bit more about the Club and presented Craig with a Light Blues Club lapel pin badge.
