Gang Of Fifteen Descend on Hexhamshire Council

06th May 2022

After a three year hiatus the Districts of Northumberland and Cumberland and Westmorland were finally able to hold their, much anticipated, joint meeting of Degree of the Silver Trowel at Hexhamshire Council No.193, which meets at Hexham Masonic Hall in the District of Northumberland.

A combined total of fifteen candidates participated in the ceremony, also known as the Order of Anointed Kings or Degree of Thrice Illustrious Master, and were treated to a magnificent ceremony held under the auspices of the District Grand Council of Northumberland and led by the Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, and District Grand Director of Ceremonies, Illustrious Companion Andrew Jennings.

A packed to the rafters building, including a very healthy visiting deputation of senior Executive members from the District Grand Council of Durham, then witnessed a demonstration of the Super Excellent Master degree, undertaken by Companions from the Hexhamshire Council itself, during their separate meeting, and then treated to a very convivial Festive Board.

Congratulations to all the recipients of this years’ Silver Trowel Degree from everyone at Northumberland Freemasons, which is practiced as an adjunct to the Order of Royal and Select Masters, not as a separate Order, and is a special reward for merit and conferred in very limited numbers.
