Although the golf season has been hit hard due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Province of Northumberland’s Golf Society has been unable to play any competitions, there is hope!!! W.Bro Eric Longstaff of Plessey Lodge, and the society’s honorary secretary, has requested all budding Ian Poulter’s get in contact and help the province regain The Joseph Miller Cup, which was wrestled from the teams grasp, by the Province of Durham, last year at Garesfield Golf Club.
This year Northumberland has home advantage as the competition is being played at Burgham Park Golf Club, on Friday 4th September 2020, with tee off times from 12.28 pm. The teams will be provided with coffee and a sandwich on arrival, 18 holes of golf and a two course meal after the competition. All this for only £35.
Buggies are available, however, need to be booked in advance via Eric Longstaff. The competition will consist of a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford. The scores from each group of golfers will be added together at the end of the games and the province with the most points will be awarded the silverware.
Please email Eric Longstaff on elongstaff@sky.com to reserve a place on the team.
Everyone at the Provincial Communications Team wishes Eric and the rest of the team good luck against our Masonic neighbours and are willing them to bring home the silverware.
