Squarely Speaking Officially Launches
Today marks the official launch of Squarely Speaking, the new podcast from the Province of Northumberland, created to explore Freemasonry, leadership, community and personal development through open and engaging conversation.
Designed for both Freemasons and the wider public, the podcast aims to go beyond the Lodge room and highlight the people, experiences, values and ideas that continue to shape Freemasonry in modern life.
The series will feature conversations with Brethren, guests and community voices from across Northumberland and beyond, covering topics including:
- Leadership and mentoring
- Lodge culture and member experience
- Community engagement and charity
- Personal development and wellbeing
- Tradition, relevance and the future of Freemasonry
- Stories and experiences from across the Province
The first episode features Tony Harvey in a wide-ranging and thoughtful discussion on the future of Freemasonry, member engagement, retention, leadership and the challenges facing Lodges today.
The episode explores themes including the “leaky bucket” challenge, Light Blues initiatives, mentoring, adaptability, public perception and the importance of creating welcoming and sustainable Lodge environments for future generations.
Tony also reflects on his work developing the Members’ Pathway, now part of Building Together, and shares practical insights into how Lodges can continue to evolve while remaining true to the core values of Freemasonry.
