Wednesday 25th January saw Bro Stuart Robinson of Perfect Ashlar Lodge No.7966, which meets at Morpeth Masonic Hall, undertake his Second Degree ceremony, witnessed by, no less than four Grand Lodge Officers including two Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, W.Bros Greg Smith and George Sanger, as well as a Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master in the guise of W.Bro Michael Daws, all of whom are members of the lodge.
The degree was well conducted by W.Bro Dennis Beecroft, assisted by his son Mark who delivered the signs. It was noted by Dennis how good it was to see the Lodge Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro Ian Hudson, back in the lodge after his recent absence, who then proceeded to deliver the Tracing Board of the degree in a faultless manner which was hugely enjoyed by Stuart and the rest of those in attendance.
Attending in his capacity as Provincial Membership Officer, W.Bro Gary Breach was very pleased to be able to present Stuart with his Second Degree booklet, at the end of proceedings, and to say a few words of welcome into Freemasonry on behalf of the Province. It was also noted that Stuart almost certainly had the easiest trip to make home at the end of the evening, having recently moved into the house attached to the Masonic Hall in Morpeth.
The evening continued with a very convivial Festive Board consisting of cheese stuffed Portobello mushroom, steak pie with roast potatoes and veg and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who dined.
Congratulations to Stuart on taking his next step in Freemasonry and everyone at Northumberland Freemasons wishes him well on taking his next step.
