A Masonic “return to norm” was well and truly witnessed last night at Bedlington Masonic Hall when, a packed to the rafters, Lodge Palatine No.5345 held a special meeting for the installation of one of their own as an Assistant Provincial Grand Master.
RW.Bro Ian Craigs, accompanied by a full Provincial deputation, was able to install his namesake, W.Bro Gordon Craigs, after the final pandemic lockdown restrictions were relaxed, with all the pomp and ceremony rightfully expected for such an occasion. Members from across the Province, and beyond, came together, showing how much loved and respected Gordon is, amongst them.
Gordon was initiated into Freemasonry in 1979, into Lodge Palatine, and exalted into St Cuthbert Chapter No.1902 in 1981. He is currently the Learning and Development Lead for both the Craft and the Chapter in the Province, as part of his portfolio as Assistant Provincial Grand Master. In the Chapter he holds the Grand Rank of Past Grand Standard Bearer (PGStB) and is the Past Provincial Grand Master in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons for Northumberland. He was promoted to the Grand Rank of Past Senior Grand Deacon (PSGD) in the Craft at this years Appointments and Promotions meeting of United Grand Lodge in Great Queen Street.
Congratulations to Gordon on your preferment from everyone at Northumberland Freemasons and we wish you all the best for your term in office.
