The Senior Deacon of Lodge Temperance No.2557 which meets at Byker Masonic Hall, Bro Mark Richardson, is fundraising for the Northumbria Blood Bikes 360 challenge which will be held on Saturday 16th May 2020.
This is a wonderful charity performing a fantastic and indispensable role in the North East community. Run by local volunteers to deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies, out of hours, between hospitals and other healthcare sites in North East England.
This 360 challenge takes riders to the furthest points of the Northumbria Blood Bikes operational area showcasing some of the best areas Northumberland, Durham, and Upper Teesdale have to offer. The ride is not a race rather a fund raising treasure hunt ride to help with the running of the Northumbria Blood Bikes. Their running costs alone are at £5,500 per month so any donation will help to fuel their vehicles.
If you’d like to participate yourself, the entry fee for the event is £15.00 per rider or £20.00 with a pillion. All participants who successfully complete the challenge get a badge, and if you raise £360 or more will receive a ‘SPECIAL AWARD’ badge in recognition of their efforts.
Bro Mark has his eye on the special award and is hoping to raise £360 so please donate to his fundraising page or make a donation next time you see him.
All donations are gratefully received. You’d be surprised at how significant even £1 is to this charity.
