Care home residents at an Alnwick Care Home got a special Christmas delivery of chocolates when motorcycling freemasons roared in with presents for all of the residents and staff.
The Northumbria Chapter of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association paid a visit to cheer up the residents of Abbeyfield House, a not-for-profit organisation which is open to all and has a mixture of social care and privately funded residents.
Around 30 boxes of chocolates were presented socially distanced by the Widows Sons newest member Tony Keenan to the residents and staff.
Jim Thompson BEM is chair of Abbeyfield North Northumberland Extra Care Society’s executive committee and he was delighted to see the bikers outside the home.
“Sadly, due to COVID regulations we couldn’t ask the lads in for a cup of tea to warm them up as it was a bitter December morning but everyone was delighted with their presents and we are all very grateful for them thinking of us.”
