The Reserve Forces Lodge of Northumbria No. 2666 proudly participated in the prestigious Gilbert Thompson Memorial Dinner Night, an event hosted by the Armed Forces Network, on Saturday 17 November 2024. This gathering celebrated the life and legacy of Gilbert Thompson, a respected figure in the Military, broader community and Freemasonry which offered a night of remembrance, tradition, and fellowship.
11 Members of the Lodge attended the event in their striking green jackets, which they wear as their Lodge Mess Dress. The attire highlighted their unique blend of Freemasonry and military tradition, emphasizing the values of brotherhood, duty, and service that both institutions hold dear.
The evening’s entertainment featured a rousing performance by the Pipes and Drums of the Tyneside Scottish Association. Their evocative melodies, steeped in Scottish heritage, resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom share a strong connection to the armed forces. The music added a ceremonial grandeur to the occasion, reminding all present of the sacrifices and enduring bonds of military service.

The Reserve Forces Lodge Of Northumbria meet at Fern Avenue, Jesmond on the first Wednesday of the Month. The next meeting on 4 December will see another 2 candidates initiated into Freemasonry.
