Every year for the next 5 years, Terry will be organising a sponsored walk to support Festival 2031. In 2026 it’s a walk through history.
Led by Terry and supported by the Province, this will be a challenge built on shared effort, camaraderie, and purpose.

Intro
We’re inviting Brethren across Northumberland to take part in an unforgettable challenge along one of Britain’s most iconic historic landmarks.
Terry’s Roman Wall Walk is a 7-day, 84-mile journey following the route of Hadrian’s Wall, stretching across the rugged landscapes of Northern England.
Whether you’re looking to take on the full challenge or just explore the idea, this is your opportunity to be part of something meaningful as part of the Northumberland Festival 2031.
The Challenge
Participants will have the option to:
- Walk the full 84-mile route over 7 days
- Take on selected stages across the week
- Join as part of a Lodge or Chapter team
- Support in other ways along the route
This is designed to be inclusive and flexible, allowing individuals and groups to take part in a way that works for them.

Fundraising
As part of the Festival, participants will be encouraged to raise funds in support of The Freemasons’ Charity.
A suggested minimum sponsorship target of £250 will apply, with further guidance to follow.

This is currently an expression of interest phase.

- shape the structure of the event
- plan logistics and support
