Grand Chapter Honours

30th April 2020

Following on from yesterday’s celebrations we today congratulate those Companions of the Province of Northumberland who should have been at the appointment and promotion meeting at Supreme Grand Chapter, Great Queen Street, London, in order to accept their Grand Ranks today.

Although, as we are all well aware, Masonic activity has been suspended, these well deserving and worthy Companions can, forthwith, wear their new regalia with pride.

The Companians receiving appointments are:

E.Comp Stuart Cairns, of Alnwick Chapter No.1167, and E.Comp Hugh Padruig McIntosh Macleod, of Priory Chapter No.1863, both of whom have been appointed to the rank of Past Grand Standard Bearer(PGStB).

E.Comp Stuart, who is the Provinces current Scribe E as well as the Provincial Secretary in the Craft, was initiated into Freemasonry in 1994, and exalted into the Royal Arch Chapter in 1996. He holds Grand Rank in the Craft and is a member of Alnwick and Hulne Priory Lodges and Alnwick and Farne Chapters, where he has held numerous offices over his many years of membership.

E.Comp Hugh, who is the Provinces current Scribe N, was initiated into Freemasonry in 1986 and exalted into the Royal Arch Chapter in 1994. He holds the rank of Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in the Craft and is a member of Haven and Lindisfarne Lodges. He is also a member of Priory Chapter where he has held the office of Z on five separate occasions.

We hope the Brethren of the Province of Northumberland will join us in congratulating them on their very deserved preferment and wish them all the best for the future.
