Northumberland Freemasons will not be taking part in the 2026 NE1 Newcastle Dragon Boat Race.

We are, however, hoping to put together a team for next year’s event, bringing members from Lodges across the Province together to compete on the River Tyne while raising funds in support of Festival 2031.

Interested in joining the team?

No previous dragon boat experience is required, although participants will need to be:

• fit and comfortable taking part in vigorous paddling;
• available for the full event;
• willing to attend any agreed practice or team sessions;
• committed to working as part of the crew.

Further information will be published once the date and arrangements for next year’s race have been confirmed.
