An initiation to remember

27th May 2018

Our Assistant Grand Master, RWBro Sir David Hugh Wootton, accompanied by the Chairman of the Universities Scheme, WBro Mark Greenburgh, came along to thank the Brethren of Duke of Connaught Lodge for all they have done to support the scheme.  Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Ian Craigs was also in attendance with several members of the Provincial Executive including Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro Kevin Stannard, Assistant Provincial Grand Master WBro Greg Smith, and Provincial Grand Secretary WBro Brian Rudd.

The Lodge room was full with more than 100 brethren at the meeting.  The Worshipful Master, WBro John Freeman, and his Officers carried out an excellent ceremony which culminated in a poignant and beautifully delivered First Degree Charge by the Senior Warden, Bro Richard Erskine.

The Festive Board was a delicious 4 course meal and in responding to the toast RWBro Sir David Hugh Wooton expressed how please he was to visit the North East and paid tribute to the work of our Provincial Grand Master.  It was wonderful evening and one which the two initiates – Bro Liam Matthews and Bro Kenneth Graham – will never forget.
