Mental Health Support

“It’s okay not to be okay”

You don’t have to carry this on your own. Support is available — inside the Province and beyond.

If you need urgent help now

  • Immediate danger: call 999 or go to A&E.
  • Urgent mental health support (England): call NHS 111.
  • 24/7 listening: Samaritans 116 123.

Talk to someone in Freemasonry

Start with your Lodge Almoner. If you’re not sure who that is, or you’d prefer to speak outside your Lodge, you can contact the Province.

Where appropriate, guidance can be offered with discreet escalation only if needed.

Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF)

Counselling grants, advice and support tailored to Freemasons and their families.
Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, bereavement or uncertainty, confidential help is available.

Mind & Samaritans

Mind (Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm): 0300 102 1234

Samaritans (24/7): 116 123

If you’re not sure where to start, pick one and call — you don’t need the “perfect words”.

What to expect when you reach out

  • You can talk for as long (or as little) as you need.
  • You won’t be judged — reaching out is a sign of strength.
  • If you contact the Province, support is handled with care, compassion and discretion.
  • If you’re supporting someone else, you can still reach out for guidance.
