Jointly hosted by the Northumberland and Durham Chapters of the Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association, members from all over the country and beyond congregated together at the Bishop Auckland Rugby Club, for their first national rally since pre-lockdown, at the end of July 2019
With the promise of good weather, fine beer, bands, and good food, over 400 members enjoyed a tremendous weekend, with guests form as far afield as America, the Netherlands and Sweden. The rally also played host to a meeting of the newly consecrated Widows Sons Lodge No.10011, which took place in a large marquee erected for the weekends entertainment. The attendance at the lodge meeting was overwhelming with standing room only for some of the brethren attending. A talk on the Northumbria Blood Bikes was provided by our very own W. Bro Nigel Barlow.
Although the weekend was more about sharing Brotherhood and enjoying music and food together, the weekend managed to raise over £6000 which will be donated to the Northumbria Blood Bikes and the Widows Sons national appeal to raise £20,000 for the Lifelites children’s hospice charity.
Many thanks to W.Bro Peter Younger for the submission of this article.
