We Will Remember Them……Remembrance Sunday 13 November 2022

01st December 2022

Sunday 13th November saw King Charles III led the nation’s tributes to the jallen in all conflicts.  Throughout the land, similar tributes were being paid and were all united in the 2 minute silence at 11:00am precisely.

In Newcastle, a contingent from the Northumberland Freemasons, led by W Bro Lt Col Bob Bruce RA (ret’d), marched in the Armistice Day parade in Newcastle. The parade marched to the War Memorial in Old Eldon Square, where Bob laid the poppy wreath amongst those of the other organisations, in that simple, quiet act of remembrance which rightly means so much to us all.

Bob paid tribute to the fallen in all conflicts and to those who continued to suffer through their experiences in conflict., as well as thanking the brethren for joining him on the parade, saying  ‘Some of these Brethren have served in the Armed Forces; some have not.  All are united in their solemn pride in those who did their duty and made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and for liberty and freedoms which are sadly too often taken for granted nowadays.

‘For your tomorrow, I gave my today’

We will remember them.

Many thanks to W.Bro Tom Clifford for the submission of this article.
