Northumbrian Masonic Fishing Club Casts Bait For New Members

25th July 2022

The brain child of Bro. Colin Bowman of Gavel Lodge No. 8928, which meets at Cramlington Masonic Hall, the Northumbrian Masonic Fishing Club is looking for new members to bolster its numbers.

Inaugurated in April this year, and currently standing at over forty members, the club is open to masons of all levels, from beginners to experts, and it is intended to open the club up to non-masons or friends of masons who like to fish, in the future.

The club offers help, advice and tuition, as well as group forums on best techniques, flys and tactics at local trout fisheries, throughout the trout season.

Moving forward the club is planning to host competitions, issue inter-provincial challenges as well as host regular social events, as membership grows.

At present focus is on sea angling in the winter, with plans to organise a boat trip in early September or October, weather permitting.

It is very much hoped that, moving forward, the club will be for Masons and non-Masons to mix with a general interest in common.
