Friday 12th August witnessed the inaugural official fishing trip of the Northumberland Masonic Fishing Club.
Ten intrepid members boarded the charter boat, Blue Eye 2, from North Shields with a 7am ropes off. Half the team hadn’t fished from a boat before and were complete novices, however, the skipper provided rods and reels for all those who didn’t have equipment.
Northumberland Freemasons are happy to report that every participant caught fish, however, it is difficult to ascertain the actual number caught. All in all a very productive day was had by all concerned and there were some really big specimens just shy of double figures in weight.
Bro Stuart Armstrong of Remembrance Lodge No.6319, which meets at Throckley Masonic Hall, was awarded the heaviest fish trophy. Congratulations on your win Stuart.
Many thanks to Bro. Collin Bowman for the submission of this article.
