The members of Lord Warkworth Lodge No.1879, which meets at Amble Masonic Hall, recently generously donated £50 to Hanna Rutherford, who embarked on a transformative journey to Tanzania on the 10th of July with International Camps through James Calvert Spence College.
Camps International are dedicated to building permanent camps in the heart of the places they deeply care about. Embracing the highest standards of responsible tourism across all their operations, they forge powerful partnerships with local communities and boast a wonderfully diverse team of passionate staff across the globe.
Above all, their unwavering commitment is to always prioritise purpose over profit. They proudly refer to this as the Camps Effect, the driving force behind their positive impact – fostering growth and change for the young people who embark on this journey with them, and for the planet as a whole.
Hanna’s four-week stay in Tanzania is set to bring hope and support to less fortunate local communities. She will actively participate in building schools, toilets, hospitals, or any other pressing needs at hand. Beyond lending her helping hand, Hanna will immerse herself in the local culture, savouring traditional food, and even mastering some of the local languages. Additionally, she will be equipped with bush survival and craft skills as a valuable asset for unforeseen circumstances.
The Lord Warkworth Lodge takes immense pride in sponsoring Hanna, and wholeheartedly wishes her all the best on her extraordinary journey!
