W Bro Guy Smith’s 200-Mile Masonic Ultramarathon for Alzheimer’s

In memory of his late mother, W Bro Guy Smith is running nearly 200 miles across the Province of Northumberland – visiting every Masonic Hall in just four days – to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society.

This challenge is personal. It’s monumental. And it needs your support.

“If every Temple, Lodge, and Brother could spare just £1 – it would make an incredible difference.”
— W Bro Guy Smith

Why It Matters

Guy’s mother sadly passed away this year after a short battle with Alzheimer’s. In tribute, and in hope of helping others facing this cruel disease, Guy is running to raise £3,000 + for the Alzheimer’s Society.

He begins his run on Monday, 2nd September 2025, starting at St David’s Lodge in Berwick, and plans to take a photo at every Masonic Hall he passes – sometimes in the early hours.

He’ll finish at his home Lodge, Oriental Lodge No. 9371 in Whitley Bay, after a gruelling four-day journey on foot.
