There was a very special surprise visit to Holy Cross Lodge on Wednesday 12th June when VWBro Kevin Stannard PGSwdB Deputy Provincial Grand Master attended the meeting to promote WBro Trevor Atkins to PProvSGW
WBro Trevor joined Holy Cross on the 9th September 1987 and has been WM five times 1992, 2005, 2018, 2019 and 2024 and twice in other Lodges
He has also held 5 other positions within Holy Cross Lodge over the years from Inner Guard to Almoner and on every occasion the work has been to a extremely high standard.
In recent years both Buddle Lodge (No 3937) and Neptune Lodge (No 2908) who also meet in the Wallsend building have gone through very challenging times and in order to help these Lodge’s survive Trevor became a joining member of Buddle Lodge in January 2017 taking the position of WM in 2018 and Secretary in 2020 a position he still holds today and he also became a joining member of Neptune Lodge in September 2019 taking on the roles of Junior and then Senior Warden in 2019 and 2021 respectively and WM in September 2023.
Trevor is very supportive of all Lodges in the Wallsend building and is more than willing to help out on any occasion in any way he can and is also very keen to help and guide new members who are starting their masonic careers.
A Second Degree was performed on the night with Trevor doing all the WM work himself if front of over 50 members and visitors some of which had travelled down from Berwick for this special occasion
