This year sees W Bro Guy Smith take on three awesome challenges to raise funds for the TLC children’s charity.
The first challenge takes place in the Highlands of Scotland where he’ll be taking on the enormous ‘West Highland Way Challenge Race’. This event takes place on Saturday 25th-26th of May 2024 and has a 36-hour cut off to complete the full 96 miles of unforgiving terrain from Fort William to Milngavie.
The second challenge will see him taking on ‘The Wall ‘ which is a 70-mile run from Carlisle Castle, following as close as possible to the route of Hadrian’s Wall and concluding just over the Millennium Bridge in Gateshead. This event takes place on Saturday 15th June with a 26-hour cut-off.
The third challenge is named ‘ Ultranorth Marathon’ and is a 34 mile circular run starting at the Swing Bridge on Newcastle Quayside, following the River Tyne up to Wylam, where the route crosses the bridge and moves into Ryton and up into Greenside. It then makes its way into Chopwell Woods where it weaves through the trees before hitting the Derwent Walk trail back down to Blaydon and along the river back to the Swing Bridge. This event takes place on Saturday 13th July and comes with an 11-hour cut-off.
Anyone interested in sponsoring Guy in his three challenges should look out for sponsor forms dotted around various Masonic Temples in the province or click here to donate on his Just Giving page or scan the QR code on the sponsor forms. Alternatively, if you’d like to send him an email detailing your Name, Lodge, and contact number, then the amount you’d like to pledge, he’ll add your name to the list.
