On a tranquil morning in August, the Northumberland Freemasons embarked on their inaugural fishing excursion, departing from Royal Quays at a leisurely 8am. As we set our course northward, the air was filled with anticipation, savouring the picturesque sights along the Northumberland coastline.
The day’s highlight undoubtedly was the generous mackerel catch, as our fishing lines gracefully danced in the glistening waters. Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as we reeled in one mackerel after another.
We ventured to the fishing wrecks in our quest for the elusive cod. Although the cod remained elusive that day, the bond between the two boats of Masons was extraordinary and competitive. Nine fish were proudly hoisted aboard the two boats, not counting the mackerel, leaving us with cherished memories.
We gathered to share stories of the day’s adventures upon our return to Shaw. Masons from across the province had united to partake in this unique Masonic fishing experience, and a few lucky individuals left with well-deserved prizes.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all who joined us, making this day truly exceptional. As we bid farewell to this remarkable day, we eagerly anticipate the next event on the horizon.
Stay tuned for updates and mark your calendars for our future aquatic escapades.
