Brian Bowmans Fifty Fantastic Years

12th July 2023

Today Northumberland Freemasons congratulates WBro Brian Bowman on completing a fabulous fifty years of uninterrupted service to the Craft.

Brian was initiated into Freemasonry when he joined Heber Lodge No.6241, which used to meet at Byker Masonic Hall prior to its sad demise when it was erased in 2014. Prior to its closure Brian joined Newcastle upon Tyne Lodge No.24, in November 2013 before being made an honorary member in June this year.

Brian occupied the offices of Junior Warden and Senior Warden twice whilst a member of Heber Lodge and was acknowledged in Provincial Grand Lodge when he was appointed t the active rank of Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 1992, receiving subsequent promotion in 2004 to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer.

He joined the Royal Arch Chapter in February 1977 when he was Exalted into St Peters Royal Arch Chapter No.481, which meets at Maple Terrace Masonic Hall, subsequently resigning in 1999.

During his working life Brian was a travel agent and was an accomplished guitarist playing Shadows songs at the Lodge Festive Board, prior to his eye sight deteriorating.
