The recent meeting of St Cuthbert Chapel in the Commemorative Order of ST Thomas of Acon, which meets at Ashington Masonic hall, was an extra special occasion for the recently formed new Province. Not only was it the Installation of the new Worthy Master, but a Full Provincial Deputation was in attendance in order to dedicate the new Provincial Sword.
The Right Worthy Grand Preceptor, David Roach, the Head of the Order in the Province, who also happens to be the Intendant General for the Masonic and Military Order of the Red Cross of Constantine in North and East Yorkshire, was paraded in and occupied the Chair of the Chapel, whilst the Provincial Sword was unveiled to those present, and the dedication ceremony conducted, with great professionalism, by the Right Eminent Provincial Grand Prior, Nick Deakin.
With the dedication ceremony complete, the Chapel was placed back in the hands of Ray Walton, the Worthy Master and current Provincial Grand Master in the Mark Province of Northumberland, for the Installation of this successor, John Tomlin, the Deputy Head of Order in the Masonic and Military Order of the Red Cross of Constantine and Royal and Select Masters in Northumberland. Ray did a super job and Installed John in a very dignified manner.
After the appointment of the Officers, the formalities came to a close and those present enjoyed a very convivial meal and chat at the festive board.
